So Lets StartLoki showrunner Michael Waldron’s new deal at Disney reportedly includes performing on season 2 of the Disney+ show, seemingly confirming its renewal.

Marvel Loki season 1 is one among the foremost anticipated shows of 2021. The six-episode season will debut on Disney+ in May 2021. It will be the third live-action Marvel show to air on the streaming service, following WandaVision and therefore the Falcon and the WinterSoldier, which can debut in January and March, respectively.

The show is manager produced and written under Waldron’s stewardship, who made his name on the adult animated show Rick and Morty. Loki season 1 will star Tom Hiddleston, reprising his role as the especially popular character from the MCU, alongside Owen Wilson, GuguMbatha-Raw, and Richard E. Grant.

Waldron is running Loki and writing Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness for Marvel. Both projects have been well taken in the halls of Disney, as a new report says Waldron has been given a new deal at the studio. Part of that deal includes writing Kevin Feige’scurrently untitled Star Wars movie, which was announced in 2019. That deal, listed by Deadline, also includes bringing Waldron back “in some capacity” for any potential Loki season 2.

The report doesn’t confirm the show has been renewed, but it does mean there are already plans in place for season 2 if, as expected, Loki proves to be a hit for Disney+. And Waldron will be back to tell more of the story he has crafted for the iconic MCU villain, making him an integral part of the MCU’s future, at least for the next two years.

It’s a stunning rise in fortune for Waldron, whose first TV writing gig was just a few years ago, but proves that Disney is ready to backless experienced names if the work they put out is of high quality. They think Waldron’s work on Loki and DoctorStrange in the Multiverse of Madness is good, as they’ve given him a remarkably good deal to work on two major franchises.

Hopefully, they’re right, and both the TV-series and movie are as good as this vote of belief makes them seem. Loki certainly looks promising, judging by the teaser trailer the show released late last year. Like WandaVision, the series is expected to take a familiar character on a new path and grow their story outside of the core MCU constraints while still tying into it.

With such a stellar cast and now a writer who seems to be Disney’s new wonder boy, the signs are good that Loki can live up to lofty fan expectations and get more than one season. Thank You  Reportedly Already Planned For Disney+.
